About The Program

Web of Women is a Mission EDC initiative that provides free computer science courses and IT certifications to the women of Mission, TX.

Mission EDC created Web of Women with the intention of providing professional development to individuals who are beholden to a regular work schedule but still
want to learn computer science in a classroom environment. Mission EDC believes that all women, regardless of the stage of their career, should have the opportunity to increase their computer science skills.

The five-week CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification course will be the first of many courses offered through the Web of Women initiative.

From networking and cybersecurity essentials to hardware and software basics, the CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification will provide students with the skills needed in a digital workplace. It’s ideal for those considering a career in IT or those working in an allied field that requires a broad understanding of IT. This certification can also be a stepping stone to more advanced certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+.

CompTIA is the leading provider of vendor-neutral IT certifications in the world. Having a vendor-neutral IT certification allows hiring managers to recognize the IT skills of potential employees. Many professionals who have obtained an IT certification find their CompTIA credentials essential to their success.

This course will start March 20th and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks.

All classes will take place from 5:30pm-7:00pm and will be held at the CEED building, 801 N. Bryan Rd., Mission, TX
